Creative Project

Remember the advent calendar you had as a child — paper doors that opened to reveal chocolates or other tiny treats? Well, we discovered something even better. Our printable advent boxes also include festive suggestions for ways you and your family and friends can celebrate the season. Like “make paper snowflakes” or “take a drive to enjoy the holiday lights.”

Plus you get to decide what sort of surprise you want to hide inside.

25 Days of Treats & Togetherness

Put your fears of origami aside, this project is simple and fun. Enlist some little elves for help, like your daughter or nephew and make it an advent calendar party.

What you’ll need:

  • Scissors
  • Colored twine/string or hooks
  • Treats or tiny gifts
  • Tape
  • Our printables

What to do:

Start by printing and cutting out the advent boxes. Fold the boxes along the dotted lines then tape the sides together. Next fill the boxes with holiday treats like salted caramels, chocolates, truffles or small toys and trinkets like finger puppets, jewelry or gift cards. Then string the boxes along a fireplace or hang them on the tree or around the house and countdown to Christmas with special gifts and activities for each day.
