West Palm Beach was settled in the late 1800s by several hundred townspeople who quickly got busy planting seeds and growing gardens and farms full of tropical fruits and vegetables for shipment north via Lake Worth and the Indian River. By 1890, over 200 people had settled along the Lake Worth territory now known as West Palm Beach. The area’s first hotel, the "Cocoanut House," was built, along with a church and a post office. Any local resident will go coco-“nuts” over our West Palm Beach gift baskets containing roasted mixed nuts, as well as freshly dipped strawberries, which are covered in coconut flakes, nuts and chocolate chips.
Coconuts are just the tip of the fruit iceberg. Much of the land in West Palm Beach was originally used for growing fruit, and many of the city’s most famous properties are named after its tropical produce, for example, Mango Promenade. Other areas were founded on fruit-growing territory. The wealthy Flamingo Park area was transformed from a pineapple plantation into a community of houses with stunning ocean views. From coconuts and pineapples to mangos and more, our gift baskets delivered to West Palm Beach are full of guaranteed fresh fruits and even chocolate covered berries for an extra sweet surprise.
When it comes to sunshine and fun times, West Palm Beach combines the best of both worlds during its annual SunFest celebration.
