Whether you can't get enough of chocolate dipped strawberries or you love sinking your teeth into delectable candy bars, there's always an event just around the corner where you can celebrate this tasty concoction. Recently, Floridians and chocolate lovers from across the country all came together to chow down at the Festival of Chocolate at the University of Central Florida (UCF).

The Goal of the Festival of Chocolate

From April 27-29, chocoholics were able to gather at the UCF Arena to munch on some of the world's most delicious treats. Attendees paid $15 in advance to enjoy the event, according to the Seminole Chronicle, which had everything from educational lessons to cooking demonstrations.

"The goal of the festival is that there's something for everyone, so it doesn't matter if you're two or 102," event producer Aileen Mand told the news source. "It's your one chance to walk into a space and be a kid in a candy store. It's everything chocolate."

Notable Local Chefs Cook with Chocolate

The Orlando Sentinel reported that many notable local chefs were also present to discuss everything from truffles to how to melt chocolate for various recipes. Rosen Shingle Creek Resort's David Ramirez, master chocolatier and founder of Schakolad Chocolate Factory, Baruch "Bernie" Schaked, and Nicholl Notter of Orlando's Notter School of Pastry Arts were all at the event.

Those who attended were able to see demonstrations on how to incorporate chocolate into various dishes, and not just dessert!

Unique Events at the Festival of Chocolate

The Festival of Chocolate was more than just a delicious learning experience - organizers also made an effort to incorporate fun, exciting activities in order to fan interest in this delectable treat.

On the first day of the event, there was a pastry school dessert challenge hosted to allow chocolate enthusiasts to show off their skills, according to the Seminole Chronicle. On Sunday, a wedding cake decorating contest was held to show how beautiful these sweets can truly be.

Perhaps the most interesting happening at the festival was the fashion show, reports the Orlando Sentinel. The Cocoa Couture Fashion Show featured the works of 18 designers who used candy bar wrappers to create ensembles that wowed the crowd.

With a little bit of something for everyone, the function was a roaring success. Best of all, every guest was able to indulge his or her sweet tooth!
