| The thought, the care, the time…there’s just something special about receiving a hand-made gift, isn’t there? We have a few DIY gift ideas for the season, all deliciously easy.|
Dressing up premade treats
One of our favorite tricks is taking premade, gourmet treats and dressing them up for gifts. Think hand-decorated cookies, truffles and our seasonal favorite, peppermint bark. Since all of the cooking is done for you, get creative with the packaging. Break up the peppermint bark and place the pieces in a mason jar and tie with a festive ribbon. Finish it off with a fun gift tag made out of patterned wrapping paper or cloth. Instant gift!
Sending cookies across the country? Try this: clean out a Pringles can and place the cookies inside. Cover up the outside with wrapping paper and send.
Making marinated goat cheese
If you really want to get your gourmet on, try our impressive recipe for marinated goat cheese. Gather your favorite brand of goat cheese, olive oil, fresh herbs and garlic. Place the cheese, fresh herbs and garlic into an airtight container and pour in enough olive oil to cover the cheese. Refrigerate for an hour up to a couple of weeks. Make the gift complete with a freshly baked baguette.
Creating a baking kit
Looking for a gift for the Betty Crocker in your life? Fill a pretty tin with all of the baking essentials: multi-colored and patterned cupcake liners, different shaped sprinkles, food coloring and a spatula. Take it to the next level with an apron and oven mitt. We bet you’ll get a delicious thank you in return.
